馬英九總統率團出訪的「久揚之旅」，在多明尼加時間12日下午(台北時間13日凌晨)抵達多明尼加，進行國是訪問。當地媒體十分重視總統到訪，包括多明尼加日報、立思鼎日報、加勒比海日報、日報、新日報和自由日報等，都對馬總統抵達多明尼加，進行報導。

部分媒體還詳細說明總統此行將參訪的地點，以及接受多明尼加總統梅迪納(Danilo Medina Sanchez)的贈勳，並到國會發表演說。

由於多明尼加與鄰國海地因為非法移民問題關係緊張，多明尼加著名的立思鼎日報，也登出總統在專訪中提及，呼籲國際社會能協助徹底解決海地問題的談話。
